At least I'm into me...

So I went and saw the movie He's just not that into and then I got the book and I think they both should be retitled to "He's just a fucking asshole, P.S. Get over it." Which is cool because that has been my guy mantra since my last XY chromosome experience went all to hell. Now the movie was cute, I was actually surprised I liked it, I was verrry apprehensive about watching it fearing I would leave the theater depressed or in tears but no I was good. Midway through I was wondering since I have been through nearly all those experiences do I win a fucking prize at the end. Nope, not even a bag of popcorn. Never the less it was worth my $12.50. I don't think I learned anything new though cause I once had my sage-esque best friend explain this shit to me.

So now I am reading the book and I am happy to report that most of these excuses that girls come up with I haven't done since my early college years so I'm good. I am now wondering if anyone has actually used the advice with some success and furthermore, why do women fucking do this excuses thing. It's beyond me. Not that I have never done it. Whatever. This is why I am over it... the whole scene... fuck it

For all you San Diegans

I went to December nights at Balboa park tonight. It's alright if you like really crowded fairs (think a packed Del Mar Fair) but I had fun with the people I was with, saw some Irish dancing and some art. While I was there I ran into a friend who started a business with her daughter. Her daughter dresses up like a princess and goes to little girl parties and sings and stuff. It's a super cute idea so if you happen to know any little girls (or boys) who would like a princess to appear at their party heres where you can get the info:

On a side note which has nothing to do with anything, I am watching the new texas chainsaw massacre; wow could they attempt to make this movie any more shallow and complicated do I really need to see Jessica Biel running through a slaughterhouse literally? That is all...

So I work for Stillness?

It's strange, you work and work and audition and audition to get cast in a show; now that I am in one I totally feel like I am slacking the work part. I understand that this is the pay off but it still doesn't get rid of the ants in the pants feeling, like I've got to work! Don't stop now! September auditions are creeping their way onto the casting boards some of them look o.k. We just got our flyers yesterday, I'll post here pretty soon. Let's see, I just saw Brokeback Mountain today, I know like a million years and a dead cast member later. It was really sad, I was surprised that I was so moved by it, even when I had already known the ending. Heath Ledger, what a Damn shame, very good actor, don't test with your lives young people, seriously we are not immortal no matter what the latest vampire book tells you.

Filling the Void

I've been reading "The Artists Way recently," apparently it is good for writers block and regaining of your general creativity and I've started to do what the book calls "fill the void/well" by watching old movies. I'm really lucky because the place I am living in has some of those must-see films that I've always meant to watch but never got the time. I started with Logan's Run (I totally have a '70's crush on Michael York, and Malcolm McDowell for that matter), then I watched A Woman Under the Influence where Gena Rowlands goes completely Bat-shit right before your eyes and Now I'm on Last Tango in Paris where Marlon Brando is just plain Bats.

I have a painful weakness for Bertolucci films the one I've seen usually have some fantasy of mine in them. Although, I don't know how cool I would be locked up in a room having weekly trysts with that crazy MF. What said is that I know in my heart I already have had men like that, intoxicating and painful and interesting, too bad it's not as cool as saying "I did Brando." Is it true that Maria Schinder went crazy after that movie? I don't know where I heard that.

I decided to go into Manhattan for the Bastille festival, bought cute French Postcards, ate a crepe. I got that, that was basically all there was.
